Spring screech owls
The owlets are getting restless this time of year. They should be getting out into the real world any night now. Dad (the master of camouflage) is always close by during daylight hours.
12/29/07 One of the great wonders of the Texas Coast is the annual migration of the Whooping Crane. My wife and I observed this family of 3 cranes this morning having watched them land and feed for awhile, then taking flight again.
For about 5 years now we've enjoyed the company of a family of screech owls which frequent our back yard. During the winter months they've nested in the owl box we provided, raising three owlets each year.
You know, I really do try not to offend anyone, but I just can't guarantee political correctness in anything posted here. I'm sorry for that and apologize right now.
